Yuqian Joe Zhao, LMSW, a bilingual (English/Chinese Mandarin) psychotherapist, completed his master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Houston and a clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine. He has clinical experiences working in outpatient clinics, Oceans Behavioral Hospital, and community organizations providing individual and group therapy, and other social services aimed at the improvement of clients’ health and behavioral health outcomes.
As an affirmative and trauma-informed therapist, he creates a safe and supportive space for clients to express their emotions and find meanings of life. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, his approach is tailored specifically to clients’ needs and goals. He provides therapy for adults aged 18 years and older who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity issues, chronic illnesses, and more.
